A speculative project that embodied the David Mellor brand and ethos: The result of which was a range of small objects used to prepare herbs and spices, amalgamated into a set.

As a stimulus for inspiration at the beginning of our second academic year, this five-week project tested to the fullest extent my ability to manage time. Remaining adamant that each component was necessary, I had to ensure not only their completion, but also their consistent high quality finish, in recognition of the David Mellor ethos.

Components of simple, varying forms, are held in harmony on a routed Corian board. Together, with walnut and granite, the preparation of herbs and spices is turned into a tactile, ritualistic experience.
